Management

Mackenzie County supports safe and responsible waste disposal through a network of waste transfer stations and regional facilities. Residential waste collection is provided in select hamlets, with broader solid waste services delivered through the Mackenzie Regional Waste Management Commission (MRWMC), which serves the Mackenzie Region in partnership with local municipalities.

Location: Range Road 172, South of Highway 697 Hours: Thurs – 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sat – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Location: Highway 697, South of Township Road 1080 Hours: Tues – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sat – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Township Road 1044, West of Highway 697, Buffalo Head Prairie Hours: Tues – 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thurs – 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sat – 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: East of 45 Street, Fort Vermilion Hours: Tues – 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sat – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Location: 10005 99 Street, La Crete ​ Hours: Mon – 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thurs – 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sat – 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Location: Township Road 1093A, North of Rocky Lane Hours: Wed – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sat – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Location: Oilmen Road, South of Industrial Drive, Zama City Hours: Tues – 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sat – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The following fees are charged at waste transfer stations, effective April 28, 2021. Current fees are listed in the Fee Schedule Bylaw.
