Mackenzie County (the “County”) is seeking proposals from interested parties for the SUPPLY only or SUPPLY and APPLY of GRAVEL (Loading, Hauling, Application, Spreading of Gravel and Other Work) on gravel roads identified by Mackenzie County.

Scope of Work

Supply of aggregate for the Contractor’s operations in accordance with the Contract shall be as follows: Designation 4 Class 20 (designation 2 class 20) materials shall have a maximum of 25% passing the 1250 µm sieve and Designation 4 Class 40 (when asked). The most recent edition of Alberta Transportation Specification Book shall be used to further define specifications for private supply of aggregates. Prior to application and on site, the County requires sieve samples to be taken to confirm gravel quality is within specifications. The Contractor shall provide sieves analysis for the material being supplied.

The Contractor will supply and operate trucks capable of performing the work required, hauling and uniform spreading to the satisfaction of Mackenzie County. Mackenzie County reserves the right to prevent the use of any truck or equipment at any time if its performance or the work is deemed unsatisfactory. This includes proper speed of spreading and spreading ability.

The successful Contractor(s) shall complete The Work by August 1, 2025. Contractors may begin work on or about May 12, 2025.

Alberta Purchasing Connection

Purpose of RFP

Mackenzie County (the “County”) is seeking proposals from interested parties for the application of liquid asphalt in cracks not exceeding 35mm in locations identified by Mackenzie County.

Scope of Work

The Work consists of filling cracks on designated streets in the Hamlets of La Crete, Fort Vermilion and Zama, La Crete and Fort Vermilion Airports, various parking lots, the Highway 88 Connector and the Zama access road.

Surface Preparation shall include the drying, cleaning and removal of all vegetation, dirt, and debris from cracks. A hot air lance shall be used to ensure that the existing pavement temperature is a minimum of 40°C when applying the sealant. Care must be taken to avoid burning the existing pavement.

The successful Contractor(s) shall complete The Work by June 30, 2025. Contractors may begin work on or about May 1, 2025.

Mackenzie County (the “County”) seeks innovative proposals from interested parties for the creation of 2025 RGBI  digital aerial photography and producing a georeferenced digital Orthophoto covering all privately owned lands within Mackenzie County as depicted in Schedule “C” – Schedule of Locations. Photography shall be flown at a resolution of 25cm (resolution) RGBI Orthophotos for the County 10cm (resolution) RGBI Orthophotos for hamlets, campgrounds (as depicted in Schedule “C” – Schedule of Locations) and additional lands Caribou Mountain Day- Use Site, Thurston Lake Day Use Site, Platapus Lake Day-Use Site, and Bistcho Lake Day-Use Sites (as depicted in Schedule “D” – List of Additional Lands).

Proposals are to include experience on similar projects and a general description as to how the Proponent will handle the County’s needs. It is the Proponent’s responsibility to identify any inability to meet the requirements specified by the County in this RFP.

Scope of Work

Horizontal and vertical accuracy shall be ensured by obtaining the required information and using appropriate equipment and software.

Images/Tiles shall be based on the Alberta Township System, utilizing the NAD 1983 10TM AEP Resource Projection. Imagery shall be provided in MrSid format.

The successful Bidder is required to work with the County to create the ideal tile size based on digital file size. Multiple versions of tiles for the same areas may be requested. Any fees associated with this are to be included in the quoted price.

The successful company shall discuss with the Director, or representative, prior to commencement of The Work, to review and agree upon the proposed work plan and timing.

The following section “Ortho Imagery” forms part of this RFP and all conditions must be met.

The successful company shall complete The Work by October 31, 2025. An alternative completion date me be considered if there is just cause for a delay, but completion would still be anticipated in 2025.

Purpose of RFP

Mackenzie County is requesting proposals to convert raw bush land to grazing land.

Scope of Work

  •  The Lessee will develop this property at no monetary cost to Mackenzie County in exchange for a long term lease with no rental fee to the lessee for the duration of the agreement.
  • The bidder will propose the length of the contact.
  • The Lessee will list proposed year by year improvements in his/her proposal for the duration of the agreement and will report to Mackenzie County annually.
  • Required action includes removal of trees, broadcasting of approved pasture mix, installing a perimeter four strand barb-wire fence and the digging of one dugout at an approved location.
  • Merchantable timber shall be released to harvester to contribute to logging costs.
  • The Lessee will utilize and demonstrate satisfactory grazing practices.
  • The Lessee will comply with the Alberta Weed Control Act to control all Noxious weeds on this property. Failure to demonstrate satisfactory weed control can result in contract termination.
  • If deemed the successful bidder, the Lessee will produce proof of liability insurance on this property.

The Work consists of painting lines on designated streets in the Hamlets of Fort Vermilion, La Crete & Zama, Airports in Fort Vermilion & La Crete, Rural Roads, various parking lots, curbs, crosswalks, stop bars, and the Highway 88 Connector.

The County will undertake sweeping of all Hamlet roadways on the day prior to anticipated line painting operations. In addition to this, it will be the Contactor’s responsibility to ensure that all surfaces to be painted are free of debris, dust, particulates and oils and are perfectly clean and dry.
