The Tompkins Crossing Ice Bridge capacity has increased to a maximum of 40 tonne, effective Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 1 p.m. The Ice Bridge first opened on December 12, 2025 for light weight traffic at a maximum capacity of 5 tonne for the 2025/2026 winter season. Please use caution when crossing the Ice Bridge and travel at the posted speed limit. Do not cross the Ice Bridge with a load that is over the capacity posted.
