Mackenzie County understands the need to find solutions to wind pressures, promote soil and water conservation, and rural and urban beautification. The development of permanent shelterbelts is often necessary to cope with plough winds commonly experienced throughout the region. Access to shelterbelt seedlings varies annually reflecting nursery stock. Mackenzie County will continue to Landowners in the acquisition and distribution of Shelterbelt Trees through the application process and in accordance with all applicable County standards and specifications, and those imposed by other levels of government.
Procedure
Policy ASB022: Shelterbelt Trees (currently being revised) outlines the guidelines and restrictions for the development of shelterbelts as well as application details.
