Reminder to Residents – Unsightly Premise

Mackenzie County is reminding residents that keeping neighbourhoods clean and safe is a shared responsibility. Maintaining private property, as well as adjoining public spaces such as ditches and the resident’s portion of back alleys plays a key role in preserving community standards.

Under Bylaw 1325‑24 Unsightly Premises, properties that fall below required maintenance standards may be issued a Clean‑up Order. Conditions considered unsightly can include garbage accumulation, uncontrolled grass or weeds, inoperative vehicles, and lack of building maintenance or repair.

Residents are encouraged to review the regulations and ensure their properties remain in compliance. Failure to meet the standards outlined in the bylaw may result in enforcement actions, including fines and required clean‑up.

Information on fines and related fees is available in the Fee Schedule Bylaw at www.mackenziecounty.com/bylaws.

Community pride begins at home. By maintaining properties and adjacent public spaces, residents help contribute to cleaner, safer, and more welcoming spaces across Mackenzie County.
