As some of you may know, Mr. Len Racher will be retiring from his position as CAO this coming October. On behalf of the Councillors, staff, and residents of Mackenzie County, I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Len for his hard work and unwavering commitment as CAO.
Len has seen the County through many challenges over his five-year tenure, including a number of natural disasters. His optimism and open approach to working with people have been an asset to the municipality. Over the years, I have received many comments from residents about Len’s first-class leadership. I can truly say that having Len at the helm has been an honour and a privilege.
In addition to his role as CAO, Len has positively affected many people in our communities on a personal level, by passing on his wisdom and providing guidance whenever it was needed. Len’s wife, Raema, has also made a lasting impression, sharing her love, passion, and knowledge of horses through her work with the La Crete Community Equine Center. Raema’s contributions have resulted in hundreds of children discovering their own passion for horses and horseback riding.
In October, Len and Raema will be moving back to BC to enjoy their retirement together. We would like to wish Len and Raema all the best in their next chapter.
Josh Knelsen,
